We signed up for a ranger hike. Only 11 people with Claire, our ranger. We hiked in the area of Denali called Stoney Creek. Claire shared all sorts of good information and she collected some fresh bear scat For DNA study. We wanted to keep hiking when most of the group stopped for lunch. Scott and I took off up the creek into the canyon, a few miles later we spotted a cool place up on the hill for our lunch. Minutes after we hiked out of the creek bed, I looked down where we were and there were 3 grizzlies munching away! We were within 250 yards and therefore we backed away and hiked back to the group. It was a major adrenaline rush! One bear stood on its hind legs. I will try to post a short video Scott took, we did not take good pictures because we needed to get out of there!
