A little history...

The flour mill near Vischer Ferry across the river/canal supplied flour for the Revolutionary troops at Saratoga. Saratoga was a huge victory for the Americans in 1777 against the British. This battle convinced the French to aide in the war and made a huge difference in the outcome. The tow path we rode this morning took us right by this area.
